Research interests:

  • My research activity is focussed on the mathematical problems of the mechanics of solids. The main fields of interest are the theory of elasticity and thermoelasticity, with emphasis on the theory of media with microstructure and the theory of shells and plates.

Participation in national research projects:

  • 3 grants as project manager in 2005 (CNCSIS - AT), 2006-2007 (CEEX - ET), and 2009-2011 (PNII - IDEI).
  • 10 grants as member in the research team.

Prizes for the research activity:

  • Prize "Gheorghe Lazar" of the Romanian Academy, 2007.

Fellowships:

  • Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers, Martin-Luther University Halle, Germany, 2008-2010 (13 months).

International research projects:

  • Participation in the research project: Modern Composites Applied in Aerospace and Surface Transport Infrastructure (CEMCAST), funded from the European Union Seventh Framework Programme, FP7 - REGPOT - 2009 - 1, grant agreement no. 245479, and coordinated by Prof. Tomasz Sadowski at the Lublin University of Technology (Poland), 2011.
